What I'm Listening To

Yesterday I mentioned all the cool projects I'm seeing in the blogosphere.  All of which I feel like I absolutely have to do myself.  So here is a rundown of 3 new ones I found today.

BurdaStyle's Tory Hanging Organizer

tory_door_organizer I love the colors in this hanging organizer.  So vibrant and peppy.  Makes me happy just looking at it.  Plus, it works as a great organizer.  And I love to organize.

In a conversation the other day, another crafter mentioned that she uses a hanging shoe organizer to store fabrics for her current projects.  I thought this was a great idea and had put a shoe organizer on my shopping list.  Now I think I'll just make one of these instead.

Fabulous Fabulous's Laptop Cozy
laptopbagflower1 I've seen these laptop cozy's popping up all over the web.  But this one is one of the cutest.  And it looks like it is very easy to make.  I haven't worked with felt yet, but I've wanted to.  I hear how easy it is to work with.  And they say that it never frays!

If this project turns out easy enough, I see Christmas presents in the future Laughing

Refab's Chicken Doorstop

chicken_doorstop I love opening the windows when the weather is right (which isn't often in Texas).  But I always have to drag over a trash can or plop down a pile of books to keep the doors from slamming shut.  These doorstops would not only work great, but look nice too.  They even have a mouse version.  I'm thinking that his is a perfect way to use old scraps of fabric.

One last little thought.  All the pictures look so nice.  I need to learn how to take better pictures of my own work.  I always think my pictures look very amateur....well, I guess they are amateur.  But the pics also don't do the work justice.  Perhaps I'll have to search for tutorials on how to take better pics of my projects.  Any suggestions?

oh, and the reason my pictures look professional is that i actually am a
professional photographer.  one tip- if you don't have a good lighting
setup, try putting your things in some nice soft window light, and
avoid using the camera's flash. hope that helps!

Not only did I post your project, but I had to try it myself. These were
so much fun to make. Thank you so much for the inspiration. You can
check out my version of your pattern at http://www.trashydivaliving.com/fabric/laptop-c.... Of course, my pics are nowhere near as good as yours.
