My sister sent me an email today asking how to make her own marinated olives. She's been seeing the olive bars popping up in grocery stores and really likes them. But the price is a little high for them. She thought there must be a way to make them herself. Ending up with less cost and better flavor. And, who does she turn to for advice? The Trashy Diva, of course!
So I did a little research and came up with a basic game plan for making your own. Add garlic, spices, herbs to a pot with a cup of olive oil. Heat oil over low heat to infuse it with flavor. Pour oil over olives. Add salt/pepper. Allow to marinate in fridge for 24 hours or longer, occasionally stirring.
I'm not an olive fan, but I'm interested to give this a try. The hubby is a BIG olive fan. He always loves to stop by the olive bar in our grocery store. I could see him devouring these. He's also a martini drinker so these could add a little twist to his basic recipe.
So thanks to my sis for the inspiration!
