Camera CaseI purchased a new camera recently. It's one of the reasons the pictures on this site have improved. ;) Our last camera ended up getting a lot of scratches on the screen because we had no case for it. I wasn't going to let that happen to this new one, so I made a case myself.

A full view of the eyelash scarfMy sister and her family visited during the winter holidays. While they were here, my sister borrowed one of our scarfs while she went on a walk through the neighborhood. Afterward she commented how warm the scarf made her feel. Apparently, she had never felt the need to wear one before and didn't know how great they are. So now that she is a scarf convert, I thought it only appropriate that I make her one.

Kitty Tunnel PDF Print E-mail

Kitty Tunnel from Amy Butler's I recenlty bought Amy Butler's "In Stitches" book. It is full of great projects for making items for the entire house. But when I saw her Kitty Tunnel pattern, I knew that had to be my first project to tackle. I made some dog beds last year, and our cats seem to enjoy laying on them as much as the dogs. I decided it was time they had their own place for relaxing.

Page HolderI hate when I'm cooking, my hands are dirty, and I turn to the cookbook to check the next step only to find the pages have flipped. I don't want to use my hands to flip it back because I'll get the book dirty. But it is a pain to wash my hands just to flip a page. Well, I came up with a simple solution.

Earflap hat created oon knitting loomA few months back I made a simple ewrap hat for my newest nephew. He grew out of it very quickly and I offered to make a new one. My sister asked if I could do one with earflaps to protect his little ears. That sounded like a great challenge to me. Luckily, I found the perfect pattern in my new book - "Loom Knitting Primer"

Office Chair Makeover PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 31 January 2008 10:12
Closeup of fabricThe padding on the arms of my office chair started to flatten and I could feel the staples underneath. Every time I set my arm down with any pressure, I'd get pricked. It didn't take long for me to have enough of that, so off I went tearing my chair apart. And the results turned out better than I would have expected.

Digital Picture Frame from Junk Laptop PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 27 January 2008 00:00
Digital picture frame from junk laptopA few months ago, we finally decided it was time for a new laptop. Ours was 5-6 years old. The hinges that held the screen on were starting to break. There was a crack running along the top that was growing. And it just couldn't meet our needs with its limited RAM and processor speed. So we got a new laptop (yeah!), but I found a great way to salvage the old one. I made a digital picture frame out of it.

Embroidered Fleece Scarf PDF Print E-mail

My family and my husband's family both decided to do a white elephant gift exchange this year.  Instead of going out and buying two $10 gifts, I decided to make something.  Or at least embellish something.  Inspiration came when I saw a $3 fleece blanket at Ikea with a wonderfully scalloped edge.  I knew I could make something wonderful out of it so I bought two.

Hand Tied Quilt PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 06 January 2008 18:00
I was strolling through Ikea one day when I stumbled across a blanket I hadn't seen before.  It had a very pretty black and white cotton fabric print on one side and fleece on the other.  And to make it even better, it was quilted.  I knew right then that I had to make one myself -adding my own flair in the process
