The other day I blogged about buying knitting looms. Well, now I'm going to start posting some of the projects I've done with my looms. This hat and scarf combo was my first major project with looms.
I was really happy with how the scaf turned out. The yarn I used had a lot of texture and color to it so it gives the finished piece a lot of interest. I was a little disappointed the scarf curls so much, but I guess it adds to the interest. It was before I knew how to properly knit a flat piece on a round loom.
The hat was simple and quick to knit (gotta love the single stitch method). I did put a brim on it. I love doing brims on hats. It adds that extra depth to the piece. I did make the hat a little short. It could have used about 4 more rows of stitches. But it fits and that is what matters.
I ended up giving this set to the hubby. The whole time I was knitting it, he would say "Wow, that's really pretty. I love the way it looks. I wish I had something like that.". I picked up on the not-so-subtle hints and gave it to him. It makes me happy to see him wear it.
