Last year I played around with making simple notebooks using fabric and cardstock. The result was nice, but nothing amazing. It was something that I would use myself, but definitely not gift. Well, I have come across a new method for creating notebooks. It is a little more involved but I think the results are fantastic! And very gift worthy...
I found the instructions for creating this notebook through one of the crafting blogs I read. I can no longer remember which one. But that isn't, important. What is important is that you can find the instructions at Daydreaming on Paper. The process is fairly simple. It does take a couple of hours to complete, but most of that time is spent waiting for glue to dry. The hands on time is about 45 minutes.
My first notebook using this technique turned out so well that I'm using it as a gift for my sister-in-law. I could see making lots of these and using them as gift stockpile. To personalize the book, I printed a quote onto an address label and put it on the inside cover. I'm sure it would be even more personal if I wrote the quote by hand, but my handwriting is horrible. This keeps the writing as beautiful as the book.
