I don't know how I lived before I had my immersion blender.  It has quickly become an indispensable gadget in my kitchen.

immersion_blender This tool has so many uses.  When I make my roasted tomato basil soup, I no longer have to work in batches to blend the soup in a normal blender (often burning my hands moving the hot liquid from pot to blender).  Instead, I just pop this little thing into the pot and start whirling.  I have a beautiful, smooth soup in no time.

My husband uses it for blending his morning smoothie after workouts.  It works great for this because it is so easy to clean afterwards.  I would hate washing a pitcher blender every day.  But an immersion blender is a cinch to clean.

If you get the model that comes with plastic containers and blade, the immersion blender can become a mini food processor.  Very handy when making a quick dressing or small amount of pesto.  Plus, you can store the extra in the container without having to dirty something else.  Can you tell that I hate to wash dishes Wink
